SFTE EC 2020 Symposium Report

Virtual Event (2020-06-24)
Written by Jim Fawcett

Plans had been laid for the 2020 symposium to make a return visit to Nuremberg in June, to allow members to enjoy the parallel events of the ETTC and Sensor+Test exhibition. Despite the growing reports of the COVID outbreak, as late as March 2020 the organisers of the Nuremberg event had felt that the sanitary conditions and German law would still allow the symposium to continue, but the rapidly evolving situation led the EC Board to postpone the symposium, initially to 2021.

The SFTE EC Symposium 2020 - postponed

Message from the European Chapter President:

The 31th SFTE European Chapter Symposium

These days we all face dynamically changing circumstances with regard to private and business life. Everyone does their best to stay in good health and protect others from being harmed by the Corona pandemic. In the light of the uncertainties regarding the duration of current restrictions in Germany and worldwide the Executive Committee of the European Chapter regrettably took the decision to postpone the “physical” symposium originally planned for 23-25 June in Nuremberg to a yet unknown date and venue in the year 2021.

We started a discussion and feasibility study about a shortened webinar-style presentation event. We are still working out the technical and organizational requirements enabling such an online-event.
